Traveling Safely during this Coronavirus Era

Because of the rampant spread of the coronavirus illness, many people have become afraid of flying on an airplane or even approach an airport.  But if you still need to travel for business or personal reasons, there are ways you can protect yourself while going where you need to go.  The news has been reporting on ways you can travel safely during this rampant pandemic and here are some tips.

Be Careful while being on a plane

Although the risk of COVID-19 being spread on a plane is low, you still need to be aware about putting yourself at risk.  Avoid contact with sick passengers.  Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.  Be sure to do this after touching surfaces in airplanes and airports.  Use hand sanitizer that contain 60%-95% alcohol.  Doing these things will lower your risk of this virus.

Adhere to travel screening procedures

Be careful while traveling in this coronavirus era.

Vice-President Mike Pence announced early this month that anyone traveling to the U.S. on flights from Italy and South Korea will receive multiple screenings before arriving to the U.S.  Health screenings are also in effect in the U.S. for those traveling from China and Iran.  The U.S. has been barring many people coming from these countries, as well as 26 European countries included in the restrictions.  So before you start making that international trip, make sure your final destination has not restricted your arrival.

Stay home if you are sick

If you feel a fever, cold or shortness of breath happening in you, it will probably be best to stay home.  You don’t want to put others at risk.  There are several airlines who are allowing people to cancel their flights.  That’s what most people are doing to avoid their risk of it.

Clean and disinfect surfaces

Like what was brought out in the previous post, clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces.  Use detergent or soap and water to clean before you disinfect.  Some good examples of these surfaces are keyboards, doorknobs, light switches and countertops.

In some cases, trip cancellation insurance can protect your financial investment in a trip if you need to change your itinerary.  However whether you’re traveling this year or not, it’s certainly advisable to avoid, as much as you can, being exposed to this virus.  For more information on how you could protect yourself from COVID-19 while traveling, visit www.cdc.gov.

Yes, I have seriously thought about writing a women’s health e-book. I’ve also been thinking about doing some online health coaching calls. Feel free to offer some suggestions about that idea, as well. Also, send me a link to your blog. I would love to learn more about it and how I could guest post on it. Thanks.
