Best foods for balancing your hormone levels

As women, we strive to maintain a balanced diet in monitoring our weight, blood sugar levels and blood pressure.  But what about regulating our hormones?  These chemical messengers are vital in impacting your mental, physical and emotional health.  They also aid in controlling your appetite, weight and mood.  Here are just some of the best foods to include in your diet in balancing them out.

Avocados are delicious foods that could help balance your hormone levels
  • Avocado- This delicious addition to any meal is great in managing stress hormones and impacts the hormones that control your menstrual cycle.  It is loaded with beta-sitosterol, which can also affect blood cholesterol levels.
  • Flaxseed- Known as a superfood, flaxseeds are significant sources of phytoestrogens.  One of those phytoestrogens it contains is called lignans.  Lignans have been suggested to have protective benefits against certain types of cancer.
  • Broccoli- This leafy vegetable has been hated by many of us as children.  But it’s also great food in balancing your hormone levels.  It can help maintain estrogen balance and assist with premenstrual syndrome.
  • Pomegranate- It is an antioxidant-filled fruit that can help block excess estrogen production in the body.  However, a study also shows that a pomegranate has the potential to prevent types of breast cancers that respond to estrogen.

In addition to these foods, there are plenty of others that are good in balancing hormones.  To learn more about them, check out the article, “10 Foods that can help balance your hormones naturally” on www.bustle.com.
